Swift Renewables Office Goes Green…er

Swift Renewables has made a major step towards net zero by powering its North Somerset office with renewable energy. The site now runs on electricity generated by an on-site solar PV system and supported by battery storage. Additionally, heating and hot water are provided by a low-carbon air source heat pump.

As a renewable energy installer operating across Somerset, Devon, Bristol, and Bath, Swift Renewables wanted to lead by example. By switching to clean energy, the company has reduced its reliance on fossil fuels and cut energy bills.

The building’s solar panels generate electricity during the day. Excess energy is stored in batteries for use in the evening or when sunlight is limited. As a result, the office can run efficiently with minimal input from the grid.

Heating is now fully electric, with an air source heat pump used to warm the building throughout the year. This helps maintain a consistent temperature while reducing carbon emissions.

To support further sustainability, Swift Renewables has also expanded its electric vehicle fleet. The team now operates four fully electric vehicles, including the latest addition—a Volkswagen ID. Buzz. This new vehicle provides more storage space and is used for customer visits and equipment transport.

By making these changes, the company has reduced its environmental impact. At the same time, it now offers customers a working example of how solar, battery storage, and heat pumps can work together.

Swift Renewables continues to support homeowners and businesses across the South West. With the company’s own office running on renewables, customers can see the long-term benefits of clean energy systems in action.
