Solar PV Systems for Homes
Solar PV (or Photovoltaic panels) are systems capable of converting light energy into usable energy in homes. With volatile energy prices in the current market, millions of people are turning to solar PV systems to help offset their energy costs and become less reliable on the grid.
Although the feed in tariffs and incentives are no longer as lucrative as they once were, many homeowners can still see significant reductions in their energy bills when installing solar PV systems.

How it works
We are MCS accredited installers for Solar PV systems with years of experience developing systems that work for customers and help them benefit from the production of energy for theirs homes. Our process takes customers through an initial consultation and survey through to a design process which shows them how much they can expect to save on their bills to a professional installation service with after care. Our expertise in the renewables industry allows us to create systems incorporating solar, heat pumps and battery storage to maximise customers savings.

Our process
Consult
From your initial enquiry we will carry out a consolation or site survey to determine what you want or need from a solar PV system. From there we can produce a proposal along with a detailed breakdown of what your system will provide for you and how it should work including carbon savings and any savings on energy bills
Applications
If you wish to proceed with an install we then get to work on all the admin, the applications to the DNO and any further design work required. Then the scaffold goes up ready for install.
Install
Installations typically take 2 to 3 days to complete depending on the complexity of the system and whether you have an integrated battery storage system. During the install we try and minimised disruption and ensure you have power for as long as possible before having to switch it off briefly to connect the system to the grid. Most installations take place 4 to 6 weeks from your order being placed.
Handover
Once complete, we test and commission the system before getting the scaffolding removed. We then produce a handover pack containing the details of the system and your MCS certificate as well as notify the DNO letting them know the system has been commissioned. After sales support includes a monitoring package which allows us to monitor the system remotely to check operation, the system also notifies us of any errors or faults that may occur.
Funding & Grants
Up until 2019 the UK had a feed-in-tariff scheme where domestic solar PV installations and the owners of these systems were paid based on how much energy was fed back into the grid. This scheme has since closed to new applicants and will not be replaced.
There is, however, a newer scheme called the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) where your electricity provider would pay you for the energy exported albeit at a reduced rate compared to the rate at which we purchase electricity from them. You can find out more about the Smart Export Guarantee on Ofgem’s website.

As an MCS accredited installer we apply for the BUS voucher on your behalf and no work would be carried our without an approved voucher to give you peace of mind that the money is secure. Once the work is complete we redeem the voucher and the money is paid directly to us. You can find out more in the Ofgem website.
